A very breif Biography:
A graduate from UC Berkeley in Persian Studies & Fine Arts
Attenbed SF Art Institute (MFA).
The following piece of poetry echos undercurrent motives of a series of my paintings. This poetry is translated from Persian into English:
The Cypress of Keshmar
The abundance of bare shadows
you are
with vigorous branches
with hedgerows of wounds
then yet again
don’t sing so clamorously
in the silence of the arid land
in the gateways
of the town yonder
if it does not come back
let your fervent love
go with the flight of the wind
---
Conspicuous,
I am not
a passerby in the desert sand,
I am
here
in the horizon of a glimpse
of yours
I haven’t lost you
in the shadows of yours,
in your enduring forbearance
I am
all the same
desolate
---
For the nonce
all have not come to an end
lest by the wind that blows
to kiss
the myriad glimpses of yours
the everlasting
dangling memories
on your departed foliage
will not return
from yonder
---
For the nonce
all have not come to an end
lest by the wind that blows
to kiss
the myriad glimpses of yours
the everlasting
dangling memories
on your departed foliage
will not return
from yonder
---
Then,
just how
I did not grasp
the exodus of the one
In a brackish heart
your lingering after a vividness
shatters my memory, my skin
your being a silhouette
going amiss
forgets my eyes
---
Hey, the everlasting
branches that
allude the sky and the horizon
yet again
over yonder
with a still torrid hedgerow
turn one's gaze
to the intimate splintering
---
Then
do not forfend me all over again
a transient vagrant,
I am
in the path of the traversed ones
in the splinter of the shadows
of other silhouettes
then
the ever green ochre tree,
where are you?
after centuries of desolation,
those engraved hewn
descants
still
don’t let me be
---
With all that flutter
with that fragmented grace
you silently descant
the gates of oblivion
with dangling memories
on a desert path
in the distant ruins
on the road
shadows, tiny and tall
endlessly
traverse your path
